Finance Manager - Bluenose II
FINANCE DEPARTMENT – FINANCE MANAGER – Part Time

BLUENOSE II & BLUENOSE II Company Store has an immediate opening for part time Finance Manager, with an intended start date of February 18, 2025.
REQUIREMENTS:
This is an “in office” part time position of 20 - 25 hours per week
- Full cycle accounting (AP and AR) including current knowledge of accepted accounting principles for not-for-profit organizations
- Process AP/AR for proper coding and reconciliation of accounts in a timely manner
- Process full cycle payroll, including ROEs, T4s
- Month end journal entries, with preparation of financial statements
- Process quarterly HST reports
- Bank reconciliation of revenue and expense accounts
- GL account reconciliations and month end journal entries into GL
- Processing of invoices
- Preparation of all deposits
- Monitoring and reconciliation of issued credit cards
- Maintain files and records
- Prepare for and participate in audit
- Monitoring and control of petty cash
- Assist with completion of reports for all BLUENOSE II unique events and projects
- Assist with monitoring and completing of comparison and projection reports
- Report abnormalities to appropriate staff /authorities
- Knowledge and experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Reconcile Shopify and reconcile Stripe
WHAT YOU POSSESS:
- Bachelors or equivalent degree with bookkeeping/accounting focus preferred
- Certification from a recognized accounting program/ combination Business
Administration/Accounting program
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a financial setting
- Experience in database management including retail programs – point of sale an asset
- Experience working with volunteer board of directors
- Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operations
- Knowledge and familiarity with Xero, Lightspeed, Stripe, and Shopify a definite asset
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrate focus, positive attitude, professionalism, and teamwork
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral)
- Confidentiality Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement signatures will be required
- Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Check required
